Day 9 – Offset Trap

This time I was inspired by fellow members of the School of Motion Alumni group. At this stage, 3 members have tackled the offset stroke look for their #15minmograph submissions and it works so well. With little effort, you can stylise your design and amp up your follow-through animation.

On top of that, it was nice to get back to bounces and then, inspired by the fact that the last few submissions have ignored the resolution restriction, I played with the space itself, the barriers of the 1000×1000 square forming the barriers of the trap.

Day 8 – Epic as

I knew what I was going to do today. I had recently seen a tutorial by ECAbrams (definitely check out his tutorials) that bound lines to track points in moving footage and used this as a text reveal. I have always wanted to pull off this effect and so I dove in very excitedly. I’ll admit, I gave the tutorial another squizz before searching for my footage (again found on Pixabay) and opening the comp. I also excluded the time 3D Camera was analysing and mapping the footage, which is fair, I was just sitting there waiting and it took precious minutes. In the tutorial Abrams used Plexus, which I have not made the leap to purchase, I opted for using Beam effect to build the lines and a couple expressions to anchor each end.

Day 7 – Endless Summer

So today, as sit in my delightful office, overlooking my delightful pool with a gorgeous tropical garden surrounding it, I am reminded of two things. Firstly, how lucky I am to live in Australia, and secondly, I am reminded of a day a couple weeks ago. My husband and I were having an afternoon swim, beer in hand, and I started reading the can. Great Northern is a local beer, it might not be brewed here anymore but it is the North Queensland beer, and part of the can referred to Tropical North of Australia as having an “endless summer” and I loved it. It was one of the deciding factors to move here.

And so to celebrate the “endless summer” and tropical fruit of North Queensland I gathered all the creative commons images of fruit I could find, spent probably 30 mins prepping the images in Photoshop (that’s allowed, check the rules) and 15 mins revealing those wonderful, warm words. That is today’s #15minmograph.
